Our interview with Victim of Doug on The Stump is up now! Link below and in the comments. Enjoy! Today on The Stump we have Jason and Ty of the Memphis three piece Victim of Doug who are in the process of finishing and releasing their brand new EP. For a band that has only been around for a year-and-a-half, VOD has been busy out the gate developing, recording, and playing in and out-of-town. They released their debut album "It's Okay if You're Uncomfortable" in 2025 and they're fresh off a tour of Texas and the lower Midwest this past April. If you have a tough time figuring out what they sound like, good, it's suppose to be that way, but they don't sound like Rush. Join us as we talk about how the importance of "Yes," Texas under construction, and the goal of becoming banana salesmen. Enjoy! /episode/54W0vxUFmTIXQNboOAY5MS?si=VHnmKunTTbu6EtOUvC5K7Q

Our interview with Bill, Shade, and Thomas of Crosstown Cookers on the Stump for next week’s World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is up now! Link below and in the comments. Today on The Stump we're smelling good and tasting better with Bill, Shade, and Thomas of the BBQ team Crosstown Cookers competing at the World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest at Tiger Lane May 13-16th. Aside from being the longest continuously competing team at WCBCC, Crosstown Cookers is a tradition. From the parking lot outside the Orpheum, to Tom Lee Park, to now at Tiger Lane, they've been prepping, cooking, and partying with friends and family for decades. It's fascinating to hear about how the culture of BBQ has changed over the years and the difference between cooking to eat and cooking to be judged. Join us we talk about how the world has taken notice of Memphis BBQ, what a team goes through over the week and half leading up to judging, and how tastes have changed over the years. Enjoy!  /episode/32IpY2Vjlo7JUZaNS43TbS?si=86fc71e607f04a83 @worldchampionshipbarbecue @sha_day4life @thomasscudder

Our interview with Josh Campbell on The Stump for the Spillit All-Stars: May in Memphis at Flyway Brewing Memphis is up now. Link below and in the comments! Today on The Stump we have special guest Josh Campbell of the popular storytelling show Spillit Memphis which is having it's All-Stars event at Flyway Brewery on Saturday, May 9th. Running in Memphis for almost 14 years now, Spillit has the unique position of offering normal people the extraordinary opportunity to share personal stories from a range of topics that include tattoos, field trips, hangovers, ect. The show is based on a bucket list format with audience members throwing their name into a fishbowl with the host drawing their names at random. The individual then gets 7 minutes (give or take) to tell their own story as it relates to the given night's prompt.  At the end of the show the audience gets to vote on their favorite storyteller of the night. There are also Spillit Slams and All-Star shows where past winners return for a night of well-season, experienced storytelling that are sure to bring a sense of communal pageantry and entertainment. Join us as we talk about the origins of Spillit, why relatability is so important in storytelling, and why movies are getting longer to tell the same stories. Enjoy!  /episode/3szam0Qs72oXCn6SoFS0dn?si=70154bbb0a744b31
