Earlier in the year I had the privilege of being apart of the first ever Articles Art Exhibition. It was such a fun and fulfilling experience. Shout out to my son for making an appearance even tho he was a bit camera shy hahahaha. I'm thinking I should be taking this art thing a bit more seriously. So last month The Articles Show, powered by Sip N Stroke, happened. A unique art fair that gives Black artists and creatives the opportunity to showcase their skills in a professional, world-class facility. I’ve been to art fairs, but none as special as this! I’m IMMENSELY proud to be one of the organisers of this monumental event. The fair took place at my home – Firepit Gallery (@art.firepit ), so it was a win-win for me! But those of you that know me well, know that not only am I an artist, I also consider myself an art activist. So, it’s incredibly satisfying to bring opportunities to 63 artisans, some of whom had never exhibited before. The quality of the works was extremely high, and there were definitely a few gems in there who can go all the way! Big up to my Firepit team (slide 8) who all supported the vision from day one. Big up Marcus (@marcusjakeart ) & Nelly (@nellyk_arts ) who volunteered their services on the day. Shout out to my homie Amy (@amyroseedlyn ) who volunteered to take some outstanding pics. Now I gotta big up my Articles team (slide 1): Merch (@merchmillions ) the boss, the visionary, the patrón. Miah (@miahkyrixxx ) she is the head honcho with the levellest, most pragmatic head when we all get excited & out of kilter. Momo (@monique_plantain_love ) the Captain of the Ship – the voice (& the mouth) of the gang. Tazi (@crownpleasureentertainment ) the organiser & straight up executor of everyone’s crazy visions. You may recognise some of these names, as I work with them week in, week out at Sip N Stroke (@sipnstrokeuk ).
