Endoscopic spine surgery demonstrates a shorter hospital stay, reduced 30-day readmissions, fewer infections—it’s not magic, it’s just better,” said Arthrex faculty surgeon Mark Mahan, MD. This study is the first to compare 30-day hospital readmissions between full-endoscopic spine surgery (FESS) and nonendoscopic surgeries in a large, matched multicenter cohort. Compared to nonendoscopic approaches, outpatient FESS significantly reduces both the length of postoperative hospital stay and 30-day readmission rate, highlighting its safety and effectiveness.
