The orchestra plays a broad range of music, from classical to contemporary.
The age rage of the group is 12-19 and they play at grade 5-6 level and above. Musicians without formal qualifications are welcome, provided they can play to the right standard.
Auditions are held in June but expressions of interest are always welcome as spaces may be available throughout the year.

The orchestra welcomes string, woodwind, brass and percussion players of approximately grade 6 standard and above.

This is the sound of the Leeds Youth Jazz Rock Orchestra!
The band covers an array of styles: jazz, rock, soul and funk. They oftern perform at Leeds venues and city-wide art festivals, as well as private functions. Gig announcements are made on ArtForms social media and artformsleeds.co.uk.
You don't have to audition to join this group, but we usually ask that applicants attend a trial rehearsal to see if it is right for them before joining.

Auditions will be held on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2026.
The auditions are open to all secondary students aged between 11 and 18 years old (You must be at or starting secondary school in September 2026), so please do share this with anyone you know who may be interested and meets the required criteria. (Generally, you must be approximately grade 6 and above).
