Dans le cadre de sa collaboration avec Art + Féminisme, Artexte vous invite annuellement à une session de contribution sur Wikipédia et Wikidata. Cette année, elle sera consacrée aux pratiques de soin intersectionnelles dans l’art contemporain. Pour accompagner l’édit-a-thon, Artexte à commissarié au sein de sa collection une bibliographie thématique qui vise à mettre en lumière des artistes, auteur·trices et travailleur·euses culturel·les dont les démarches mobilisent des éthiques radicales du soin. Pourquoi éditer? Parce qu’en 2021, les femmes représentent seulement 19% des biographies de Wikipédia en français, alors que les personnes non-binaires ne comptent que pour 0.1% et 0.08% en anglais. Les personnes PANDC sont également sous-représentées, et cette sous-représentation ne fait qu’amplifier en contexte d’intersectionnalité. Mercredi le 6 mai 2026, de 17h à 19h, Artexte vous invite à participer au dévoilement de « Petits actes de résistance », une vitrine en bibliothèque commissariée par John Latour, Christine Walde & Léa Boisvert-Chénier. Dans le cadre de la 54e conférence annuelle de ARLIS/NA (2-8 mai 2026), les membres ont été invités à réfléchir sur le thème de la résistance et à soumettre des publications de petits formats, pour illustrer que la force de la résistance ne se trouve pas simplement dans les gestes grandioses, mais peut s’exprimer plus humblement sans perdre de sa potentialité. // Wednesday, May 6th of 2026, Artexte invites you to the unveiling of “ Small Acts of Resistance ”, a library display curated by John Latour, Christine Walde & Léa Boisvert-Chénier. As part of the 54th annual ARLIS/NA conference (May 2-8, 2026) members were invited to reflect on the theme of resistance and to provide small-format publications to illustrate that the power of resistance does not lie solely in grand gestures, but can be expressed more humbly without losing any of its potentiality.

Women's Image Library - Panel Discussion Thu Apr 30, 6:30pm CONTACT Photobook Lab, 80 Spadina Ave, Ste 205 In conjunction with the exhibition "Women's Image Library," join curators Manon Tourigny and Amed Aroche in conversation with artists and arts workers Maude Arsenault (@maudearsenault ) Anne-Marie Proulx (@vuphoto ) and Eve Tagny (@eve.t_eve.t ). The group will discuss the exhibition, the role of archives and collections in preserving photographic practices, and the exceptionally rich and wide field of photography by women in Canada. @artexte @contact_pbl About the exhibition: Founded in Montreal in 1981 by art historian Francine Périnet and photographers Angela Grauerholz and Anne Ramsden, ARTEXTE is a library, research centre and exhibition space whose mission is to preserve and promote research and experimentation in contemporary visual art. Drawing on its collection of 36,000+ documents and ephemera spanning 1965 to the present day, the curators of "Women’s Image Library" activated its archives to reveal women photographers’ significant and often overlooked contributions to the Canadian art scene. L’exposition «Cogner sur la table» ouvre aujourd’hui! Dans un contexte marqué par le phonocentrisme et l’audisme, SPiLL PROpagation est né du besoin de pallier au manque de représentation et d’intégration des artistes sourd·es au sein de l’écosystème de l’art contemporain, mais aussi d’un désir de rapprocher les pratiques artistiques des personnes sourdes et celles des personnes entendantes. Leurs efforts se sont traduits en accomplissements concrets, et ont donné suite à beaucoup de “premières”. La fin des activités de l’organisme aura nécessairement des impacts majeurs sur l’avenir de la communauté sourde et ses alliées. Cette exposition retrace le cheminement et souligne l’importance de l’héritage de SPiLL PROpagation (2009-2026). Par cette rétrospective, Artexte place l’expérience vécue des personnes sourdes au cœur de la démarche, sans négliger les personnes entendantes. In a context marked by phonocentrism and audism, SPiLL PROpagation was born, on out of the need to address the lack of representation and integration of deaf artists within the contemporary art ecosystem, but also out of a desire to bridge the gap between the artistic practices of deaf people and those of hearing people. Their efforts have resulted in concrete achievements and led to many “firsts.” The end of the organization’s activities will inevitably have major impacts on the future of the Deaf community and its allies. This exhibition recounts the journey of SPiLL PROpagation (2009–2026), and highlights the importance of their legacy. Through this retrospective, Artexte places the lived experience of deaf people at the heart of the project, without neglecting hearing people.
