MIES OFFICE - A contemporary tribute to the timeless philosophy of Mies van der Rohe, inspired by classical Chicago-style offices where structure, material honesty, and proportion define space.
The client brief was clear: to design a soothing workspace filled with positivity, clarity, and calm. The response was a restrained, linear language—where every element follows a disciplined grid and nothing is ornamental without purpose.
Warm veneer surfaces run in continuous linear lines, grounding the space and creating visual rhythm. This strict linearity is contrasted with Chicago-style steel and chrome bases, bringing in precision, lightness, and architectural sharpness. Iconic brown Mies van der Rohe chairs anchor the space, adding depth, comfort, and historical continuity.
Natural light, neutral tones, and minimal detailing allow the architecture to breathe—creating an environment that feels both serene and powerful, modern yet timeless.

This trip to Udaipur was not about sightseeing , it was about selecting the right materials.
As part of the design development process, I visited Udaipur to personally select materials for loose furniture. For an interior designer, material selection plays a vital role in defining the quality, comfort, and longevity of furniture. Being at factory itself - allows a thorough, hands-on evaluation that goes far beyond catalogues or digital references.
Personally feeling and inspecting each material helps in understanding its true texture, strength, finish, and craftsmanship.
Key factors to consider while choosing materials for loose furniture include:
1. Structural integrity and durability
2. Texture, grain, and surface finish
3. Comfort and tactile experience
4. Craftsmanship, joinery, and detailing
5. Suitability for the intended space and usage
6. Resistance to climate, wear, and moisture
7. Maintenance and long-term performance
