LILY SHINES at her Senior Art Show last night.
She’s a Digital Media major and chose to make digital collage works inspired by music and psychology, more specifically Synesthesia and Chromesthesia. Many of her favorite artists use the connection between color and mood in their music. She related some of their song lyrics to imagery in each of her 10 works.

It’s WORLD ART DAY!🎨
Just as I was inspired by the art installation I got to experience last weekend at Coachella, I shared the experience with my students by letting them make a clay sculpted version of “Starry Eyes”.
Even though they weren’t able to make it as large as the real thing, they learned about scale and made tiny clay people to chill out on and near their creations!

I’m walking by “Starry Eyes”
designed by architect Kyriakos Chatziparaskevas
Starry Eyes takes the form of a cluster of towering, cactus-like structures rendered in faceted geometric volumes. Rising to approximately 40 feet, the installation is designed to be entered, with internal voids punctuated by skylights that draw natural light deep into the structure. As evening falls, internal lighting systems activate, shifting the installation’s presence to a luminous beacon – otherwise known as, a meeting point for friends and Coachella festival goers alike.
