The sun is shining and my show is open - Lincoln is looking beautiful and very busy with the historical reenactments planned here for the weekend. Just look at that gorgeous cobbled road - the gallery is half way up (or down) Steep Hill. Well worth a visit!

There is a quiet alchemy in my paintings, transforming the ordinary into something luminous, layered, and deeply felt. Working from my Lincolnshire studio, I create contemporary still life artworks that hum with colour, texture, and atmosphere, inviting you to pause and look again at the familiar, often overlooked beauty that surrounds us – ‘the poetry of ordinary things.’
This solo show is a culmination of months of exploration, play, trial and error, and I am proud of the results (if I am allowed to say that here?) I’d love for you to come along and see the paintings up close – to capture the depth of layering, the loose and spontaneous brush strokes that give them their creative spark! I will be at the gallery all day on the 2nd May - and thereafter, on each Wednesday and Friday afternoon (as my hubby works in Lincoln on those days and I can cadge a lift).

How lovely it was to deliver my painting to its new owners today. To see it go up on the wall amongst all the beautifully curated art and sculpture in their house, really gave me a buzz (they used to own an interior design shop - so no surprise there). What a lovely couple! The painting looked absolutely perfectly at home in the spot they’d chosen - and it made my day!

Painted on a crimson ground - I need to work out the colours for those 4 pieces that are still ‘crimson’ - they won’t be staying that way (though some little pops of pink might just show through).

I have four of these lovely grey float frames - I think they work well with this painting that I finished today. What say you?
Most of my other frames are white or off white - but this makes a nice change, brings out the grey and neutral tones in the painting and allows the colours to pop.
