In honour of Asian heritage month, I thought it would be fun to revisit one of my most popular neighbourhood collections: Chinatown! I grew up coming here all the time with my grandma, we would head to a bakery for snacks and then go grocery shopping along Pender 🥟🥮🥢

Columbus Meat Market has been family-run by the Masi brothers since 1991, with roots in the butcher industry going back three generations. I recently had the opportunity to draw their storefront for them! 🥩 It is an East Van staple that always seems to have a lineup out the door, even on a random weekday afternoon. A true testament to the quality, care, and community they’ve built over the years! 🇮🇹

So happy it’s finally starting to feel like spring!! One of my favourite things to do when the weather gets warmer is go for a run or bike around Stanley Park 🌳 Did you know the formation along the sea wall is named Siwash Rock? I couldn’t forget to include it when drawing this piece.
Since it launched with the West End neighbourhood collection, this print has actually been a top seller! Parks like this is a huge park of what makes Vancouver so special 🤩

About a year ago, Hill’s of Kerrisdale reached out to me to illustrate their storefront as part of their website refresh ✍️. A few months later, I had the opportunity to draw the rest of their shops in the Lower Mainland! Did you know each mannequin is dressed in an outfit specially picked out by their team?
The company has been a fixture in the Vancouver shopping scene for over a century. Founded as Kerrisdale Dry Goods in 1914, it has evolved into Hill’s of Kerrisdale, Ray Rickburn, Blue Ruby. Almost a generation later, Hill’s Dry Goods launched as the sister store to Hill’s of Kerrisdale, catering to the next generation 🌟

Sing Sing is a fun spot on Main Street. They serve beer, pizza, pho, and more - a mix that somehow just works?! 🍺🍕🍜
With the sun starting to come out a little more, you can always expect to see their patio packed with people. They also recently opened a 2nd location on Commercial Dr too!

In my opinion, Earnest is one of the best ice cream shops in Vancouver 🍨. Open since in 2012, I always check their Instagram to see what fun seasonal flavours they have each month. I’ve had their storefront on my to-draw list for a while, so I’m glad I finally got to illustrate their Quebec St location for a couple who had their first date here! Located in Olympic Village, it’s one of my favourite spots to grab a scoop and walk along the seawall in the summer 🌞

Mount Pleasant got its name in the late 1800s when early settlers described the area as having a “pleasant” view from the higher ground south of False Creek. It’s one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Vancouver, full of great bars, restaurants, and shops. This collection highlights a few of the places that make it such a fun place to explore!

The first time I went to Gringo (@tacoboutgringo ) was years ago. I remember not knowing what to expect heading into the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the fun atmosphere and delicious (plus affordable) food 🌯! Open since 2013, I was so sad to hear that they will be shutting down all their locations. Especially the Blood Alley one! I drew this illustration as part of my Gastown neighbourhood collection. I will have to stop by for one last taco before they close 🌮🦩

This is the Fox Cabaret on Main St. This site was previously known as the Fox Cinema, know for screening adult films throughout the 80s to the early 2000s. After closing, the space was restored and reopened as a live music and event venue in 2014 🎶 It’s always fun at The Fox!!
