‘Archive Studies’. The moments to study could be never-ending. We’ve all got our own, an opinion on which era was best. Who’s lives longest in the memory. It’s a task we feel may never be complete.
Trying to recreate your hero on paper, the same as you did back in the garden all those years ago. Not to be those guys, but the magic never leaves. Penalty spot to pencil. The legs may have left most of us now but it’s comforting that seeing players take form in a sketchbook goes some way to that same feeling. From 8 to 28, doodling the way the ball swings or the way a player zips past their man. The skills eventually caught up somewhat to the imagination that was driving it.
