We’re starting a new Art Doctor Clinic on Wednesday nights from 22nd April at @fourthideastudios in Shipley!
Whether you consider yourself an artist or just someone who enjoys being creative… come along to the clinic and use an Art Doctor creative prompt to get you started on something, bring along your own idea or existing project, or do a combination of both.
No booking, just turn up and pay as you decide on the night (cash or card).
There’s a lovely little link in the bio for more details.

We have a new dispensing trolley and we’re so excited about it, we made a little promo film in the style of a 1980’s infomercial.
Book us for your festival or event!
All the thanks to @danieljohnsongray for film and editing skills.
We made ourselves into statues last week at the Art Doctor Clinic, with much giggling and balancing (which are tricky to do at the same time). This week we’ll be playing with words. Come down to @fourthideastudios from 7pm to join in, or bring your own creative thing to do if you prefer.
At Wednesday’s @art_doctors Clinic we mapped the sounds of the @fourthideastudios building, live mixed them from our phones, and then drew along to what we made. Kind of ‘industrial grunge drawing’ or something!
At the end of last year, Alison took part in a panel discussion on Notions of Care arranged by @yorkshirecontemporary and @lulgalleries in response to The Turner Prize. It was a wide-ranging conversation, asking:
- How does art care?
- How do artists embody care within the creative act of making and how does their work project care in all its multiplicities, its potential ethical and moral positions?
- How best can art, artists and curators create space to represent and engender care for both individuals and wider communities?
It was recorded at the University of Leeds shortly before Nnena Kalu was announced as the winner of the Turner Prize 2025.
Link in bio if you fancy listening to Alison shoehorn Art Doctors in at every given opportunity!
We've just ordered Daisy Fancourt's book 'Art Cure - The Science of How the Arts Transform Our Health'.
We all know this, right? But decision-makers and funders need evidence so that we can get creative health fully embedded in healthcare systems.
There's an article about the book here /lifeandstyle/2026/jan/07/art-could-save-your-life-creative-ways-make-2026-happier-healthier and we'll let you know what we think when it arrives!
We’ve been making a little promo film with the wonderful @danieljohnsongray
We wanna take the dispensing trolley out to festivals so we can dispense creative goodness to the masses.
Got any suggestions for street or field festivals you think would love us?
And if you have a contact even better! Someone who might like to see what’s frankly going to be a HILARIOUS little promo film.
