Between Cultures: Motherhood, Identity & Belonging This is an ongoing @mothereuro series holding space for honest conversations with women whose lives don’t fit neatly into one definition of home. Women raising children across cultures. Across borders. Across versions of themselves. This series isn’t about labels. It’s about lived experience. About partnership, movement, doubt, courage, and the quiet work of building home wherever you land. Today, we begin with Jess: @arrayaadventures More stories to come.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother — even those who mother in other ways. 🤍 And to all the incredible women who inspire me every single day with their duality of softness and strength — this one is for you.

Send this to someone who still falls asleep scrolling their phone. The last thing @arrayaadventures reads before she falls asleep is “feeling gifted.” Not doom scrolling on her phone, not her to-do list. She sleeps better than most of us! Jessica switched and no going back. An affirmation mouth tape that cares. 👄❌ The Love collection is 40% off. If you’re sitting in the doubt right now — the “am I enough, am I too late, is this too big for me” — I want you to look at your own life for a second. What have you already done that once felt impossible? You’ve started over before. Maybe not in a new country. But in a new version of yourself. A new chapter you had no roadmap for. That version, that person, is still in you. And she’s more than enough.

I’ve needed a few days just to let India settle in me. Honestly — the world has felt dark lately. Heavy in ways that are hard to ignore. But this trip reminded me that there is so much light. So much goodness. In people, in places, in the simple act of strangers choosing to show up for something greater than themselves. India was never even on my radar. And isn’t that where the most transformational things happen? The ones we never saw coming. The ones we didn’t even know we needed. A small, brave, beautifully diverse group — different cultures, different faiths, different worlds — flew there and opened themselves completely. To receive. To give. To trust. And then there were the people of India. Their warmth. Their grace. Their innate goodness. To every person who trusted us — thank you. To India — thank you 🙏 I am so grateful and full from this community we are building @wearesanctum 💙

I wasn’t prepared for India. I don’t think you can be. The people here opened something in all of us. Combined with the souls in our circle who showed up fully — I made this reel through tears because I genuinely don’t know how to hold how beautiful it all has been.

My daughter cried leaving Ibiza. Like really cried. And every instinct I had wanted to fix it. But I’ve learned — the hard way, across more countries than I planned — that the discomfort is not the problem. It’s the work. For them. And for us. We rush past the hard parts. In our kids. In ourselves. We think if we can just get to the other side faster it won’t hurt as much. But the other side is built in the sitting. The feeling. The not-yet-landed and doing it anyway. And in a world that is changing faster than any of us expected — this is how we prepare our kids for what’s coming. Not by protecting them from discomfort. But by letting them move through it. Again and again. Until they know in their bones that they can. My kids move through change now like they know something most adults are still figuring out. Because they do. Swipe to see what living abroad really taught me — and what my kids taught me right back. 👉

March was beautiful… and also heartbreaking. A reminder that life holds both at the same time. The joy, the ache, the ordinary moments in between. And that we don’t get to keep any of it forever, so we have to love it fully while it’s here.

My sweet friend @maggiegavilan asked me to do an interview about our life abroad last week, and it cracked me open. I know journaling and retelling our story is healing — but until you actually do it, you don’t realize how important it really is. So I had to jump on this 2016 trend. I’m grateful for this space to retell our story and hopefully inspire others to do the scary thing anyway — to face fear knowing that growth will take you places you never imagined. As my pastor @anthonysantiago said on Sunday, growth always comes with confrontation, and it’s so true. 🤍 @scottjeffreymiller I’m ready to write a book now 😉😂
