The shades of naturally dyed wool you can achieve using just one plant.

Just one week left to order from the website before it closes for a couple of months. I’m going to be in Norway for the summer so the online shop will be shut until I’m back in July. (Workshops will still be available to book online)

A few photos from today’s spinning workshop. We used locally grown fleece from a Ryeland flock and drop spindles designed by @alice_sowa . The next spinning workshop will be in August, all the details on how to join can be found on the website.
Plant dyes and eco printing tomorrow!

A few of my favorite displays from an excellent visit to @perthmuseumuk yesterday with @textileconservation_uofg .
I’ll be back in the studio for the next few weeks working on a few different things including getting everything ready for the April spinning, natural dyeing and weaving workshops.
A colourful (if slightly chilly!) weaving workshop today with plant dyed wool warps. Thank you to everyone who joined!
Tomorrow is the final workshop before I take a short break, I’ll be back in April, and then again in July/August with more dates to come.

Winding a warp.
Each thread is counted and added to the warping mill in turn. This warp had 610 warp ends altogether but they can be any size depending on the yarn thickness, weft yarn and structures you’re planning on using.
