Part 1: Our Story 🖍️🎨
Our founder, Gbemisola, grew up in Chicago, raised by a Lagos-born Yoruba mother whose hands spoke the language of color. Her mother learned the art of dyeing fabric from her great grandmother, lyá Aláso, who was known for turning plain cloth into beauty for her Aso Oke business.
Those memories and the women behind them inspired ARO, a brand made for colorful women. To us, color isn’t just a shade, it’s a feeling, a voice, and a way to express who you are.
We’re telling stories with every thread and making every color feels like home.
Home is wherever ARO is 💜
