We’ve been selected for IDFA DocLab 2025 with our interactive diorama Nothing to see here! This year’s theme of DocLab, Off the Internet, explores the paradox of our times: the growing need to disconnect, the impossibility of ever truly logging out, and the inherent privilege of going offline. Nothing to see here invites passersby to become part of a kaleidoscopic and disruptive immersive experience. You encounter your live doppelganger, while fictional figures and immersive sounds stalk and surround it. A series of strange events challenge our perception: What’s happening behind your back? How much of reality can we truly comprehend? And isn’t our experience of reality merely a self-constructed illusion? Nothing to See Here is an experience in public space, one you can participate in at any time and for as long as you like. The installation shakes and splits your perception, placing you in the middle of an alienating virtual world while simultaneously allowing you to observe yourself from a distance. Nothing to See Here explores that what we accept as truth is not objective or fixed, but is constantly shaped by our bodily relationship with it. We are developing and building our new installation Nothing to see here. On June 13 we will give an insight into this production process during the Open Studio presentation in Techlab / Studio Boekman. We would love you to join us and explore with us how immersive audio and 3D visuals can turn our reality upside down. During the presentation we will take you into the world of interactive and immersive audio soundscapes, sound art and interactive 3D videos. We will take you through exciting experiments with freshly recorded scenes and there will be a prototype setup of the installation for you to experience. There will also be room to talk to the makers and ask questions. Window to a small alternative reality / Nothing to see here is an interactive installation by Studio Nergens that invites passers-by to become part of a kaleidoscopic and disruptive immersive experience. Our Open Studio presentation of the installation Nothing to see here on Friday 13th of June at Nationale Opera & Ballet will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the research and development that resulted from the Collider Fellowship at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City (see picture) and the residency at the Techlab in Studio Boekman of NO&B. Afgelopen maandag zijn we onze residentie bij Nationale Opera & Ballet gestart. We ontwikkelen en bouwen hier verder aan onze nieuwe installatie Nothing to see here. Op 13 juni geven we een inkijkje in dit maakproces tijdens een presentatie & talk in Techlab / Studio Boekman. We nodigen je van harte uit om daarbij aanwezig te zijn en samen met ons te onderzoeken hoe immersieve audio en 3D visuals onze werkelijkheid op zijn kop (kunnen) zetten. Tijdens de presentatie & talk nemen we je mee naar de wereld van interactieve en immersieve audio soundscapes en geluidskunst en interactieve 3D video’s. We experimenteren met vers opgenomen scènes en er is een prototype opstelling van de installatie te ervaren. Ook is er ruimte om met ons in gesprek te gaan en vragen te stellen.
