We always ask clients: what drew you to your property? The answers vary, but they usually share something unique about their landscape and how it makes them feel. For this project, our clients fell in love with the pastoral views and rolling hills of their backyard—a place where they could step away from the world and immerse themselves in nature and their garden. As we design, we want to keep that feeling at the center of everything we do.

We designed this sensory deprivation and float therapy spa in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for Vessel Floats. The space has 6 float rooms, each with their own shower and dressing area, that are acoustically isolated from any outside noise - that’s quite a challenge in the heart of NYC!
Also enjoyed working with @order.design.nyc who created the beautiful brand identity.

Work in progress shots taken by our client in Delaware. Framing is complete and our much deliberated glass openings framing views throughout the house are taking shape. Next up are subdivisions on the upper level to form bedrooms, although I’m tempted to leave it as-is!

Studies for a house in the central historic district of Lewes, a small coastal town in Delaware. The new building is on the site of an older structure which was unusually positioned tight to two lot lines and surrounded by adjacent compact lots with houses. Part of our approach uses box-hedge walls, similar to those found in English formal gardens, to screen the house and fuse the open-plan first-floor living spaces with the intimate garden.
