Storyboard - Part 2 of ”Echoes of the Sun” returns to the real world, or what resembles it. A father sits at his daughter's bedside in the blue silence of a hospital room. She is in a coma. Her left leg carries an external fixator. He reads to her in a low voice, as if words could cross something they shouldn't be able to cross.

What you see here is the storyboard for part 1 of our short film “Echoes of the Sun”. Every image is a locked shot before video generation begins. No blind exploration, no generating into the unknown. Each frame was composed, approved. The visual checkpoint always comes before the movement.
Part one unfolds like a dream, or more precisely like a story a father reads aloud in a low voice. A warrior carries an unconscious boy through an ancient underground world. She never stops. Somewhere beneath them, a titan has been sleeping for centuries. A phrase in a dead language echoes in the dark:
“Sol'varath... anaï kaïm” (“Majesty... it is time)”
To be continued...

btw: We raised $6M to bring the future of filmmaking into your hands.
BTS: Our main Character went through 4 versions before becoming herself. The first iterations were dark, hyperrealistic, post-apocalyptic. Too much armor. Too much noise. The character was buried under the aesthetic.
Stripping it back was the real work. Fewer layers. Cleaner lines.
Until she landed in the hybrid manga/ink register that became the visual language of "Echoes of the Sun".

The future of culture: where "I" becomes "we" again.
We are losing something quietly. Not culture itself, but the version of it we used to hold in common.
We curate our own feeds, our own references, our own aesthetics, eventually our own personal brand. And with AI, we no longer just consume our own version of the world. We are starting to author it, alone.
But sitting with that thought is also where the work begins. Not in mourning the old shared narrative, but in asking what we are now responsible for building.
Maybe the future of culture is not a return to a single story. Maybe it is the slow, deliberate practice of creating bridges between many. Common ground that is built, not assumed.
If culture is what makes a society, then the future of society may depend on our ability to design moments where "I" becomes "we" again, even if only for a moment.

Darkness isn't something to escape. It's somewhere to walk into.
Western eyes were trained to fear the shadow. Japanese aesthetics taught me something else entirely. That beauty lives where light stops explaining itself.
This image came from a simple reframe: It's not a void to be scared of. It's a land to explore.
Tanizaki knew this. The pause before the cut knows this. The empty frame that holds everything knows this.
Sit with the dark long enough and it starts to feel like home.

Something is shifting. I feel it, and I think you do too.
The world is changing faster than we can process. Things collapse before we've had time to understand them. Everyone around us seems lost, and honestly, most of us are.
And slowing down is not easy. Don't let anyone tell you it is. In a world that moves this fast, choosing to pause, to breathe, to actually think, takes real effort. It goes against everything the current is asking of us.
But here's what I keep coming back to: something good can come out of this chaos. I genuinely believe that. Not because things will magically get better, but because periods of collapse have always been, in some way, invitations to rebuild differently.
The catch is, we can't do it alone. And we can't do it only for ourselves.
I don't know exactly what that means yet.
I don't have a name for it. But I think we're being asked to believe in something bigger than us. Something beyond our individual noise and urgency. And I think that might be the only way to make real sense of this moment, and of this life.
I don't have the answer. But I think asking the question, out loud, together, is already a start

Node-based workflows with AI are the most powerful thing I've worked with. They're also the only tool that has ever tired me of my own idea.
You build the architecture. You maintain the structure. The work becomes the system.
And then you wait, roll again, regenerate, hope.
Is the image in our minds still the point?

Up, down, up again. You didn't sign up for it. Nobody does. But the cycle keeps going, so you might as well keep walking.

Location without addresses - My new article on substack
There's a kind of image that unsettles you before you understand why. An empty corridor at 3 a.m. A parking garage with no cars. A mall after closing, lights still on, nobody inside. Liminal spaces, places you're supposed to pass through, not inhabit.
AI doesn't just reproduce that feeling. It is that feeling. Every image generated exists in an in-between: it looks like a photograph but was never taken, shows a face that belongs to no one, a place with no address.
I wrote about what that means for the images we create, and the ones that move us.
