Ein Faun ist ein Fabelwesen aus der griechischen und römischen Mythologie, meist dargestellt als halb Mensch, halb Ziege. Heute wird der Faun gern als das römische Äquivalent zu dem griechischen Satyr angesehen, die ihrerseits jedoch als Mensch mit den Ohren und dem Schweif eines Pferdes dargestellt wurden.
