On vient tous de quelque part. Entre le Nord de ma mère et le Sud de mon père, en mon cas. Et la parisienne que je suis ne survivrait pas sans l’énergie de la Méditerranée. Le sud c’est le chaud, le brut, le très très doux, c’est du soleil et de l’eau pour la plante que je suis. L’art de ralentir le temps, de s’attabler entre amis pour l’apéro. C’est le pas de chi-chis, le si y’en a pour deux y’en a pour cinq. D’abord vivre bien, ensuite donner beaucoup.
Le Rebetiko, c’est - très vulgairement - le blues Grec. J’ai le blues du blues, moi. D’être si loin de Paris, au plus proche de ses racines, et de s’y sentir pourtant étrangers. J’ai le blues d’être cette enfant sous la table à dîner dans cette fabuleuse ambiance bien à nous que Mamie Sophia installait à coups de feuilles de vigne et de Sirtaki. J’ai le mal d’un pays que je connais mal. Alors je le cherche dans mon art. Le Rebetiko c’est extérioriser nos peines, parler de ces choses qui ne se disent pas en société. Toujours avec bonheur.

On Saturday, Studio 1111 joins forces with resident and legend Jane Ryse for a special Studio Night. The evening begins with “Untimeless” by Berlin-based director and photographer Arnaud Ele.
Born from time, yet free from it, this immersive exhibition “Untimeless“ brings together a decade of images — creating a dialogue between past and present, instinct and evolution - rooted in the artist’s story, expanded through fashion, portraiture, travel, polaroids, raw moments and vivid colors. By capturing presence rather than era - as invitation for all generations to connect, to feel, and to vibrate. Arnaud Ele, who is French and Swiss, of Cameroonian origin, studied film directing in Geneva before traveling between major European capitals, shaping his vision through encounters and cultural contrasts. Largely self-taught in photography, his practice embraces analog film in both cinema and still image and is strongly influenced by the French New Wave, avant-garde cinema, expressionism, and Italian illusionism.
The night unfolds with Donna the show, a raw, contemporary performance reimagining early 20th-century cabaret through dance, fashion, projections, spoken word, and music, guiding the audience through dream states and the subconscious.
As the space shifts fully into motion, the afterparty takes over with DJ sets by Salimata, Unity, Pencasonics and Jane Ryse herself — carrying the energy deep into the night.
