We played music no one has ever heard. We tapped into real time reaction and reflection. We explored mature content, layered meanings, and spiritual expression. We made space for our mental and emotional health. Everybody was dressed fly. The weather was perfect.
I feel like I found more of my people. The consistent response we kept hearing was an anticipation of when we would bring everyone together again. So till next time, thank you 🤲🏾

@taelor_gray is holding space for @iamtragichero & myself at @thescatterjoyproject tonight to play new music that hasn’t been released publicly. Some of these songs aren’t even done yet.
I thought it would be novel to share half a piece of a joint I plan on playing tonight. Also to note, the Kairos Community heard this song like a month ago.

Our Kairos Community met last night & discussed how the year has gone so far. What we’ve accomplished & what’s gotten in the way. As life & responsibilities constantly pull us in multiple directions, a consistent theme was needing the right space & time to be able to focus on building something.
We’re spending the year keeping each other accountable to successfully implement the necessary things to succeed in whatever is on our heart to do.

I wrote about what that’s looked like in my own life this year. The internal work. The faith layer. What I had to unlearn about waiting on God. And what it looks like practically for the person who keeps overriding their own pace with anxiety.

I really enjoy discovering songs that producers end up sampling. Like, how do you find a piece of one song & use it to create a totally different song?
I know to some ppl this isn’t new information, but I literally just found this out a few days ago.

Jaden Ivey was waived by the Chicago Bulls after a series of videos that shocked a lot of people and rallied a lot of others.
Before you take a side, I think there’s a larger conversation worth having. One about faith, mental health, and what happens when a community doesn’t have the tools to tell the difference between zeal and a crisis. And one about what the greatest commandment actually assumes about us and why most of us have never dealt with that assumption honestly.
