A few months ago, I got a call if I’d be interested in giving a talk at the Harvard Business School @harvardhbs sharing my journey and experiences in hospitality, sensory branding, storytelling through experience and of course @areweonair
Honored doesn’t begin to cover it — but I had one condition: we do it the ‘AWOA?’ way. The more knowledge we can share and bounce off each other the better.
Entertainment and Education in an engaging way has always been the foundation of AWOA. We’re just sharing the access to people, stories, music, and culture, online and IRL.
So, with a little help from my friends, we turned this one hour class into a several hour long and engaging conference — covering everything from entrepreneurship, creative journeys, setbacks, community and purpose!
I was hoping to create an impact with this and I believe we did.. a full house for hours, smart questions and an amazing atmosphere.
A big thank you to my friends and guest speakers Jon Gray and Scott Malkin for giving us an insightful view into their businesses and knowledge. And of course a big thank you to our surprise guest my dear: Ms. Lauryn Hill for sharing her wisdom and beautiful magic with us, it was truly an unforgettable experience for everyone.

In 2024 my friends at @studioko called me about the iconic Parisian nightclub: Le Bus Palladium @bus_palladium an institution layered with decades of energy and stories.
From Dalí to Gainsbourg to Bowie. One of those places you don’t just “work on” you feel a certain responsibility toward.
As it begins a new life as a hotel and cultural venue, we were brought in to help think through what the next chapter should be not just visually but emotionally. What it should sound like, how it should feel, how people move through it from day to night.
Now it has finally opened its doors and we get to experience it again! Alleeeez 🎉
My wonderful father, mentor and friend my beautiful Babajooni: Gholam Reza Nafeei. Journalist, Politician, Humanist, Yogi was the smartest and kindest person I ever knew.
Two months shy of 90, after a short illness, he slipped away peacefully in his sleep last week, surrounded by love. He lived a full and fulfilled life, rich in laughter, purpose and remarkable achievements. Always elegant, he carried himself with a quiet, effortless sense of style that reflected who he was.
He was wisdom in human form. A man who dedicated his life to books, ideas and the quiet fight for humanity. His power was the written word. He was never loud but when he spoke, a room would fall silent and listen carefully.
His pen reached millions. For many years, people returned daily to read his Persian blog seeking clarity, perspective and truth.
He worked hard to provide for his family, always with a smile and a laugh, never with complaint. Grateful simply to be alive and proud to see his children doing their best to carry the torch forward.
There are a few lessons he left me with that I would like to share with you all:
• Consistency is everything. Daily rituals are non-negotiable.
He taught himself yoga from a book 50 years ago (long before it was mainstream) and practiced every morning before starting his day. It kept him strong, balanced and clear until the very end.
• “Wenn ich esse, dann esse ich.”
When you eat, you eat.
Focus on one thing at a time and do it properly.
• Study the past to understand today.
Read widely. Read patiently.
Read from left to right until the bigger picture appears.
• Seek the truth.
Don’t let yourself be taken for a ride.
Get as close as possible to what is real.
• Read the poets.
Rumi. Hafez.
(He could recite the greats even on his deathbed.)
Many of life’s questions and answers already exist in these ancient Persian words.
Thank you to everyone who had reached out to me and my family. It has been deeply moving to see how loved and respected he was.
We miss him so much but his heart, his wisdom and his laughter live on.
