Here seen is Jennifer Burke, Welsh Labour Councillor for Llandaff North. Jennifer is one of the kindest and easiest people to work with, incredibly involved in the community and supporting every group. She invited me into her office at County Hall and we spoke about everything you could imagine.
Jennifer is passionate about women’s issues and the representation of women within politics. Which is a perfect fit for this project, thank you Jennifer 🧡
Hi Sy’n Siarad
My new project focusing on the female MP’s and Councillors around my area in South Wales. Seen here is the lovely Sioned Williams MS, I recently met with her at her constituency office in Neath. Sioned stands below a statue of Howel Gwyn, who sat as an MP in 1847.
The importance of this project is to represent these women as something other than ‘Motherly’, a term used by a male member of staff at the Senedd when I visited - which seemed deeply misogynistic. I hope I do them justice and allow them to voice themselves through this 🧡
