This film reframes that absence through surreal tenderness, challenging inherited shame with empathy. It reminds us that behind every “fish” is a man who was never taught how to swim in his own feelings and a child learning not to drown in them.
This project means a lot to me, personally. After 9 years of running Arkala Studio and navigating the growing pains of Indonesia’s animation industry, I forgot why I started in the first place. Back in 2017, my student film Lakuna won a few awards in Indonesia, and it lit a fire in me a dream to make films that truly matter.

For @gramed 55th anniversary campaign “Tumbuh Bersama,” we teamed up with @cinemajesticpictures and @doubledistudio to blend live action with 2D animation—and yes, that includes a lion vs. lion moment we had way too much fun animating.
It was our first time diving into animal motion, studying joints and muscle flow to bring the scene to life. Short timeline, big learning, and a project we’re proud to be part of.
