Reunion LIVE is a grab bag of short plays. Some written as shorts, some adapted from full lengths, some adapted from movies. Always one night only, non-traditional venues, and free. Lotsa volunteers put lotsa work into putting these on, and the entire reason is to do some cool creative stuff with a connected audience. Hosted by Sean Glass @sdotglass . Jeremy Cohen @jeremy_street does all the work though, so be nice to him when you see him. Talk to us anytime if you want to get involved or have ideas.

Thrilled to announce Jared and Jerusha Hess of Napoleon Dynamite and Minecraft are joining our “On the End” team! We are so lucky that such a talented and successful filmmaking team have recognized our film and believed in what we are building. We couldn’t be more excited for what’s next!
“Selinger’s film is as deeply human as you can get,” said Jared and Jerusha Hess in a statement. “Try not to laugh and cry your way through it—what independent cinema should be! Tim Blake Nelson and Mireille Enos compel you to believe in love.”

You asked, we listened! Due to popular demand, we've added an additional encore screening of the local film ON THE END, which World Premiered at HIFF this weekend.

Ari Selinger’s directorial debut follows the true story of a down-on-his-luck Montauk mechanic (Tim Blake Nelson) whose life takes an unexpected turn when he falls for a fellow outcast (Mireille Enos). Their love is jeopardized when town bigwigs conspire to forcibly remove him from his beachfront home and auto repair shop. ON THE END is a love story that evolves into a David vs. Goliath battle against greed and power in the rapidly changing East End.
Once upon a time in Montauk there lived a mechanic by the name of Tom. He was an irascible man who lived on the beach and everybody hated him.
When I met him on Navy Beach in the fall of 2011, I was an NYU undergrad looking for a location to shoot my Junior Thesis film. We spotted him fixing a car one day and my friend & collaborator Daniel Porter rolled down the window and shouted to the grease stained figure with his head under the hood of a car. He asked where we could find a beaten up auto repair shop for our movie. Tom turned and smiled his sweet speckled tooth grin and said, “You’re looking at it.”
He let us transform his backyard while his girlfriend Freckles made us homemade eggnog in his hoarded house. It was a big deal for a bunch of 20 year olds. A production designers dream. During that initial shoot, he was generous, unusual and funny. He would occasionally check in on us while filming and ask to let us know when we needed the stunt cock.
Lo and behold, I got to know the guy pretty well, and he would often tell me about this legal battle he was going through with the town of East Hampton and how I should make a movie about it. It sounded complicated, relating to zoning issues, environmental law, and small town politics — not something I found very compelling at the time, but he never let up. “I’m telling ya, you’ve got to make a movie about this.”
Years later, I did. And now it’s premiering where it all began. He’s no longer with us, he passed away on September 7th, 2024 while I was early in the editing of the film. So now the time has come to raise a glass. And so…
I am proud to announce that my first feature ON THE END will be having its official premiere at the Sag Harbor Cinema featured as a Spotlight film as part of the Hamptons Film Festival, Saturday October 4th at 5:15. There will be a subsequent screening the following day, Sunday, October 5 at the East Hampton Regal Cinema at 7:30 pm.
Tickets go on sale September 22.

Step off ladies, I’m ENGAGED...to someone I love more than my own heart can handle.
When I was a kid I wondered where the girl I would marry was, who and where she was from and if I would ever find her. I could NEVER have imagined that I would meet Ali, who showed me what true love is. I am blessed and humbled beyond words — spending my life with her is more than I could have ever wished for.
I’m one happy camper. I love you, Ali.
