A few days late, but…
After an extended stay, I left Greece late last year with a greater appreciation and pride of where my family comes from and lives today. I blinked, and my three months were gone. You always leave this country wanting more - more grecien sun, more song and dance, and more time with friends and family. And the truth is, it’s never enough.
Yet, the hardships for Greece and its people are not lost on me. I often hear how difficult it is to make a living, to raise a family, and to keep the optimism with the future unknown. The Greece you see on online is not always the Greece you see in person. Still, somehow some way, Greeks stay fearlessly spirited. They will always offer you their last bite, boldly fight against injustice, and dance thru any struggles with a defiant joy. That’s the Greek way.
