I dance—
so that one day,
the drums of war fall silent
and the earth remembers only
the rhythm of peace. Spontaneity. A flicker of light. Memories fading. Searching again. Bit by bit. Now, I begin. In Budapest 2025 #improvisation #contactimprovisation
For the past two months, we rolled down the stairs, wore knee pads, crawled across the ground, and endured the weight pressing down on our bodies. Through it all, we trusted one another and successfully completed this production.
I am deeply grateful to the actors who believed in me and trusted my choreography until the very end. Every moment we shared feels like a dream.
Thank you for your friendship, your dedication, and your unwavering trust. I will always cherish the time we spent together.
Tomorrow, it all begins. 👀🔥
A first look at movement in motion.
Inside choreography rehearsal with Jungwoong Kim, choreographer of Caesar.
First preview is tomorrow. ⚔️
I choreographed Caesar, a bold and modern twist on Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, at an amazing Philadelphia theater company—my debut here! Every rehearsal, I’ve been inspired by the cast’s talent, dedication, and how they bring truth through movement.
I’m thrilled to share this exciting news with fellow artists and friends in Philadelphia.
This story is alive, fierce, and unforgettable. Don’t miss it—come see it and help us light up the stage!

There is no need to create something worth living for or something you must do.
When dissatisfaction or anxiety arises, we often search for meaning elsewhere.
Here, we return to the present moment, gently adjusting what is out of alignment.
Instead of searching for meaning, we meet ourselves through the body, the breath, and the present moment.
This process invites individual exploration of chakra energy, self-communication through improvisation, and an expansion from self-awareness into connection with others and the collective.
YOU ARE HERE.
With yourself. With others. Link in bio
Beyond Vision and Sound is a one-hour performance that begins with the act of leaving home and walks a path that imagines the experience of those who cannot see or hear.
Moving beyond sight and sound, Jungwoong Kim explores alternative ways of sensing while confronting life as a journey of suffering and resilience. Through slow, embodied movement, the work becomes a meditation on perception, empathy, and the courage to face pain moment by moment, inviting audiences to reflect on new ways of understanding both the body and the human experience.
Performance & Concept by Jungwoong Kim
Sound Design by Bhob Rainey
In conversation with co-creator Morgan Andrews & Germaine Ingram.
Beyond Sound and Vision takes place in Studio 34’s intimate back space (Studio B) and will have limited seating. Reserve now—Walk-ins on show day may miss out!

Why, like sheep drifting across the green pastures,
do I long to flow quietly?
Why, amid the city’s noise,
do I seek the song of wind through the grass?
Why, does the soul, like scattered clouds,
yearn to return to unseen arms?
Move by faith—not by sight
Drop by Studio 34's Lounge and watch Jungwoong Kim (K.Jung) as he researches how his body, movement qualities, and imagination respond when he's moving without the benefit or influence of sight or sound. What can he learn about other ways of sensing? Are there lessons about ways of understanding and appreciating the experience of people who are other-abled visually or aurally? This research will inform a multi-session workshop he will lead at Studio 34 in October 2025.
The research sessions will take place on Wednesdays, September 3 and 10, and Thursday September 25 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Stop by when you can, and stay for as long or short as you like. Snacks (tea) and conversation will follow. A free-will donation will be appreciated, but not expected. Link in bio
I had a truly wonderful and enriching week at the SFD+I Festival in Seattle.
I was honored to teach for five days, leading an intensive improvisation workshop, and sharing a solo performance day with the talented musician gamin. I also had the joy of attending inspiring workshops and Jam with amazing teachers and participant.
I am deeply grateful to the entire Velocity team and all the participants — the time we spent together will always hold a special place in my heart.
I learned so much and shared even more, and I sincerely hope to be part of the SFD+I Festival again someday.
