The Deeply R O O T ED campaign is an artistic expression of blackness and beauty curated by @hairbyshakirah . Each look explores the regality of Black hair through length, elevation, symmetry, patterns, and intentional design.
Cowrie shells & gold accents woven throughout embody prosperity, protection, and sacred adornment as ritual across the diaspora.
Earth-toned wardrobe elements were intentionally chosen to echo earth and origin.

adorned in gold and cowrie shells,
our hair has always carried status,
story, and sacred meaning.

Rooted in heritage. Crowned in intention.
This look embodies the divine feminine as both foundation and expansion. Intricate braided sculptural loops rise from the crown — symbolizing lineage, continuity, and the cycles that connect us to those before and after us.
Cowrie shell adornments pay homage to ancestral wealth, protection, and sacred adornment across the diaspora.
The structured halo braids framing the forehead represent grounding — a reminder that no matter how high we ascend, we remain deeply rooted.

Today was absolutely magical, capturing black excellence from every single person on the team to highlight black history month! 🤎✨Huge shoutout to the lovely @hairbyshakirah for asking me to be apart of this and trusting me to capture the vision for her annual brand campaign. I got to photograph and work with people I usually strut the runway with and they blessed tf out of my camera with their stunning faces!
