Today marks the anniversary of the Sewol Ferry Tragedy on April 16, 2014.
These images are part of my documentary project, School Memories: The Loss in Danwon High. Working with the families affected by the tragedy, I aimed to preserve classrooms that became memorials overnight. These rooms of learning were transformed into sacred sites of memory and grief, filled with photographs, letters, and messages to 250 students and 12 teachers who never returned.
This work is rememberance, of refusing disappearance, and of holding space for what remains🎗
