About a year ago I had and idea to support my local music scene, and through the help of the community, I put together The Merch Table Pop-Up: A flea market-style event where bands and artists big and small can sell their music and merch to the public.
The folks from Live At Madrid’s have been huge supporters from the jump and this year will be hosting The Merch Table Pop-Up on Sunday May, 31st from 12-4pm

I can clearly remember listening on repeat to my big brother’s copy of Rustic Overtones album Long Division on the school bus on a discman trying to balance it making sure it didn’t skip when we hit a bump circa 1995.
Fast forward twenty years to me and my friends somehow co-writing a song with Dave Gutter and his new band Armies, which I would end up joining as drummer, and spending almost every Tuesday night with for the next year or two in the studio, sometimes until 2 or 3am.
ANOTHER ten years has gone by since our first collaboration, and today is the release of Dave’s debut solo LP “The Music Industry Is Trying To Kill Me”.
What I appreciate the most about working with Dave is how he consistently raises the bar and pushes me creatively. Nothing is off limits. No idea is too weird. It’s rare to have a feeling of complete creative freedom when working with someone musically, and I feel it 100% of the time working with him.
Release day snuck up on me, and I admittedly could have done a better job promoting this album, but I am immensely proud to have contributed to this project. It’s been a long time coming. Cheers to you Dave, and everyone who was a part of getting this album across the finish line.
