This is dad and I in his restaurant on the Tweed River, where I spent my days scooting around the dining room in a baby walker, tied by a long rope to the bar.Turned out to be an excellent precursor to a job I have loved with my heart and soul. I finished 12 years as editor of @goodfoodau over spicy margs at @bar_lesplendide last night.I love food - buying, growing, cooking, and eating it. I love restaurants, cafes and bars also, and I am so deeply grateful I’ve been able to spend my days championing all these things with people I adore. @goodfoodau4eva

What a thrill to bring the hospitality industry together under the Sydney Opera House sails at the #goodfoodguide25 awards. Of all the moments, this quote from @mrniland will live long for me - “I think Good Food only continues to bring greater attention to the restaurants and the incredible work that everyone of these people in this room do. I think it is an incredibly valuable tool, not only for consumers, but for the industry at large to be recognised for the huge amount of effort that goes into putting a restaurant together.” Everyone in this team I love - with some too busy working to be photographed - knows how incredible the restaurant industry is in Australia. What I remember most about hosting a gala @goodfoodau dinner with @bill.granger and @joanna_savill 5 years ago was not how professional, accomplished and easy to work with Bill was. He was all of those things. But that he insisted on going to every single of the many tables in the room to meet everyone. He knew that would bring the greatest joy. And that was Bill in a nutshell. Vale to our greatest culinary export and a damn beautiful human being. Our thoughts are with his gorgeous family

Bringing 350 of Victoria’s best chefs and hospitality stars together for the first time in 3 years was always going to be epic. We had no idea just how much rowdy love, joy and gin would fill the Great Room @wmelbourne last night at the Good Food Guide Awards. It was a celebration of survival and excellence in a restaurant industry that makes Victoria great. Today I also want to celebrate this team. The best in the business. They made the spectacular Guide with blood, sweat, tears and a whole lot of eating and typing. Our magazine is out today in newsagents and supermarkets. In awe of the restaurants we honour and this lot: Team @goodfoodau @andymcginniss @annabelfsmith @callanboys @breheny @_megan_johnston_ @bianca.hrovat @david__matthews__ @danivalent (some not pictured) with a special shout out to Guide editrix extraordinaire @onetui and the best bosses ever @trudijenkins_ and @monique_farmer #goodfoodguide23
