From misty canyon bends and ancient stone, the Death Otter rises. 🦦⚡ Guardian. Trickster. Tiny warlord of the willow thickets. Forged of sunlight, current, and pure chaos — he is the river’s chosen one. Nature isn’t gentle. She’s powerful, unruly, and gloriously alive. Honor the wild. Protect the legend. Let the river roar. 🌊🖤 Drop your Death Otter sightings in the comments! 👇

RestoFest is coming — June 13 & 14! Step onto land that holds centuries of stories. From its Indigenous roots to the historic Wakamatsu Japanese settlement, this land has been shaped by stewardship, struggle, and resilience. This June, we’re gathering to honor that history — and to start writing a new chapter together. @resto.fest is a two-day celebration of healing: people, plants, water, and place. We’ll weave together ecology, community, and spirit — because water is life, and the watersheds we depend on need all of us. This is just the beginning. Come help us build something that those who come after us will be grateful for. 🌱 A collaboration between @learningbyhand , @symbiotic_restoration & @arconservancy — with the whole community behind us. 🎟️ Tickets in bio. See you there.

Conservation isn’t just about protecting land—it’s about helping all of us grow. ARC creates space for connection, learning, and belonging. It’s where kids discover the outdoors for the first time, where communities come together, and where we’re reminded what really matters. When we invest in conservation, we’re investing in healthier communities, stronger connections, and a future rooted in something real. These places shape us—and with your support, they’ll keep shaping generations to come. 🌱 Give. Grow. Be part of something bigger. Use the link 🔗 in our bio.

Big Day of Giving is TODAY. Hi. Yes. It’s us. The dogs. We would like to formally state: we LOVE conserved land. The smells? Elite. The zoomie potential? Unmatched. The sticks? Unlimited. Thanks to ARC, there are trails to trot, rivers to splash in, and wide open spaces for very important business (sniffing everything). You protect the land → we get better adventures → everyone wins. So if you’ve ever enjoyed a happy, muddy, slightly chaotic dog… you already know why this matters. 🐕 Give. Fetch. Protect our favorite places. Use the link 🔗 in our bio.

Protecting land isn’t free — here’s what it actually costs to do the work. 💚🌲 Every acre protected, every student inspired, and every hillside made more resilient from wildfire comes with a price tag. And we believe in being transparent about what that looks like. $800 monitors a conservation easement for a year — making sure the land stays protected, forever. $8 installs one foot of fence to keep wildlife corridors intact. $3,000 builds a beaver dam analog that slows water, restores wetlands, and helps entire ecosystems recover. $1,000–$3,000 reduces fuels on one acre of land, making our forests safer and more resilient heading into fire season. And it’s not just about the land — it’s about the people connected to it. $300 brings 30 students out into nature for a field trip that might just change how they see the world. $115–$330 sends one kid to Nature Camp. $235 covers a scholarship for ARC’s California Naturalist course, training the next generation of stewards. Then there’s the land itself. ~$5,000 buys one acre outright. $10,000 covers the cost of an appraisal — a required step before we can even purchase a conservation easement. It all adds up, and none of it happens without community support. This is the work. This is what your donation funds. This is why it matters. 🌿 If you’ve ever wondered whether your contribution makes a real difference — now you know what it does.

1 day until the Big Day of Giving (5/7) 💚 See link 🔗 on our bio. Today, we celebrate the wild, beautiful places that make this region home—oak woodlands, flowing rivers, working lands, and the wildlife that depends on them. Every acre protected by ARC is a promise: that these places will still be here tomorrow. From sunrise hikes to quiet moments by the water, this is what your support makes possible. If these places mean something to you, this is the time to give back. Let’s protect more land, restore more habitat, and keep this landscape thriving for generations to come. 🌿 Give. Share. Be part of something lasting.

2 days until the Big Day of Giving (5/7) 💚 See link 🔗 in our bio. Today, we’re celebrating the people who make this landscape what it is—stewards, farmers, volunteers, educators, and community members who show up, care deeply, and keep this place thriving. The work of American River Conservancy is powered by people—those who protect the land, restore habitat, and pass on a love of the outdoors to the next generation. This landscape isn’t just defined by where it is, but by who cares for it. If you believe in the power of community and the people behind conservation, today is the day to give. 🤝 Give. Support. Celebrate the people who make it all possible.

Today, we celebrate the incredible critters that call this place home—hawks riding thermals overhead, newts tucked between river rocks, and wildlife moving quietly through connected landscapes. Big Day of Giving is coming (5/7) 💚 Every habitat protected by ARC helps these species survive and thrive. Because when we protect land, we’re protecting entire ecosystems—seen and unseen. From the smallest amphibians to wide-ranging mammals, your support keeps these wild neighbors here where they belong. If you believe wildlife deserves a future here, give, share, protect what can’t speak for itself. Give at the link 🔗 in our bio.

Now we celebrate the working lands that feed us—farms, ranches, and open spaces where people and nature grow side by side. Big Day of Giving is coming (5/7) 💚. See link 🔗in our bio. ARC helps keep these lands productive, resilient, and protected—supporting local agriculture, healthy soils, and the food on our tables. Because conservation isn’t separate from what we eat—it’s part of it. Every field, every harvest, every season shaped by care for the land. These are the places that nourish us—literally and collectively. If you believe in protecting the land that feeds us, give, sustain, and protect what sustains us.

The reasons we care. If these places move you, give, protect, keep the beauty blooming. See link 🔗 in our bio.
