Utsav, Baramati, Maharashtra Utsav is a 2500 sq. ft. minimal home shaped by light, volume, and quiet restraint. This residence turns inward to create a calm and connected living environment. Organized around a central courtyard and a double-height core, the design draws in natural light while maintaining privacy within a dense context. Open passages and visual connections enhance a sense of continuity across levels, making the home feel larger than its footprint. A simple palette of brick, wood, and stone reinforces its low-maintenance approach, while terraces and landscape elements extend the experience of space, air, and everyday comfort. New on Buildofy The Split House Published in 10 Homes Bengaluru - A Coffee Table Book Rooted around a single, commanding tree, The Split House opens as a quiet dialogue with nature. It divides into public and private realms, joined by a light bridge that carries views and movement across a skylit pause, shaping one unified silhouette. The central “split” becomes its spine, drawing daylight inward and composing spaces through solids, voids, shadows, and depth, like a sequence of framed moments. A serene Zen garden settles within, stitching levels together and softening architecture with calm greenery. Together, these elements create a home that feels balanced, contemplative, and deeply connected to its setting where light, landscape, and structure exist not as separate parts, but as one continuous, living experience. A small structure, but a very controlled spatial experience. The building sits within an open landscape, using mass, material and geometry to define a clear boundary between outside and inside. The form remains compact, yet the internal volume expands through height and light. Each opening is placed to frame movement, pause and connection to the surroundings. 📸 Captured across different viewpoints, the images balance exterior massing with interior light conditions, showing how the architecture shifts between solid and void. A form that reads differently as the light shifts and you move closer. The Last Space: Sallekhana Bhavan🛕 The structure is defined by a solid stone base and stepped concrete volumes, creating a compact architectural form with strong geometry. Openings are minimal and precise, framing entry, light and pause within this small-scale space. The material contrast between stone masonry and smooth concrete gives the exterior its identity while maintaining a grounded presence in the landscape. 📸 Captured to emphasise proportion, symmetry and approach, the frames hold the transition from open ground to built form, using light and human scale to read the volume clearly. Light defines the space before anything else does.✨ Inside, the volume rises into a stepped octagonal form that draws light from above. The interior remains minimal, allowing material, proportion and light to shape the experience. Openings at the base maintain a visual connection to the outside while the central skylight anchors the space vertically. 📸 Captured by aligning the frame to the geometry, the images highlight depth, repetition and the way light moves across the surfaces through the day. When trees become part of the facade, the light does the rest.✨ At Split House, the exterior is designed around existing trees, allowing shade, movement and seasonal light to shape the elevation. Balconies, vertical screens and recessed volumes create layers that respond to this natural context while maintaining privacy and openness within the residential bungalow. As the day shifts, shadows from the trees redraw the facade, adding depth and variation across surfaces and balconies. 📸 Captured to highlight how light filters through foliage, creating patterns, contrast and softness across the architecture while framing human scale within the exterior. Same facade. Different light.✨ Across the day, the Split House facade shifts with light, shadow and depth. The clean white volumes stay minimal, while greenery, recessed openings and vertical screens begin to stand out differently from morning to dusk. The west-facing elevation is layered to manage light, create privacy and still stay visually open to the landscape. As daylight softens into evening, warm interior light and facade lighting redefine the edges, turning the elevation into a quieter, more intimate composition. 📸 Captured across different times of the day to document how light interacts with surfaces, textures and depth, highlighting how the architecture performs beyond a single moment. A staircase that brings the whole house together. At Split House, the staircase sits within a green courtyard, connecting levels while holding light, greenery and movement in one continuous volume. The double height space, skylight above and bridge connection turn this into more than circulation, it becomes the central experience of the residential bungalow. 📸 Shot to follow movement through the frame, the video captures changing light, layered depth and the interaction between staircase, courtyard and architecture as the space unfolds step by step. A staircase that doesn’t just connect levels, it builds the space.✨ In this residential bungalow, the staircase becomes part of a green courtyard, where natural light, indoor planting and vertical volume come together. The double height space allows light to travel across walls and floors, while the bridge and open edges maintain a continuous visual connection between levels. The combination of white surfaces, warm wood and landscape softens the structure, turning movement through the house into an experience. 📸 Captured to frame human scale, light and greenery together, focusing on how the staircase, courtyard and skylight interact through shadows, depth and changing daylight within this residential architecture.
