Museums Beyond Walls — Bergkrystallen, Trondheim (NO). @europan_norway Re-sourcing the former parking garage into a connected cultural space. The massing echoes Trondheim’s gabled roofscape and draws from the idea of a bergkrystal — lifted gallery “crystals” emerging from a grounded base to form a new public arena. A central cultural spine acts as the main circulation route, stitching interior + exterior spaces together and aligning with nearby landmarks and city paths to create continuous flow through the site. Open to the city via multiple access points, flexible gallery loops, and public areas that can host exhibitions, biennales, markets, events, and everyday use. Museums Beyond Walls — Bergkrystallen, Trondheim (NO) @europan_norway #europan Set in Leütenhaven / Midtbyen, this proposal responds to Europan’s call to transform a parking structure / former parking lot into an extroverted art museum — one that doesn’t just contain culture, but actively revitalises the historic centre and helps form a new cultural square in the city. The project brings together Trondheim’s two public art museums (Trondheim Art Museum + Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum / National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design) into a single, public-facing home — with the space, care conditions, and flexibility needed for exhibitions, outreach, events, workshops, and new audiences. Bergkrystallen riffs on Trondheim’s gabled roofscape and the idea of a “bergkrystal”: lifted gallery “crystals” emerging from a grounded base to shape a new civic arena. A central cultural spine becomes the main circulation route — a continuous public passage that stitches interior + exterior together, aligns with city paths + nearby institutions (including the Trøndelag theatre), and keeps the museum porous, accessible, and in motion. Diagrams in the carousel show: — how the “crystals” rise from the base to form roof + light + volume — how the spine connects multiple access points and builds an all-season public route — how section stacks programmes while keeping the ground plane open + generous (and how the existing parking structure can be adapted / reused) Collab: @kholtsmark x @architag_ x @mccloymuchemwa Images: @haze_viz #Trondheim #Norway #MuseumArchitecture #CulturalInfrastructure #AdaptiveReuse #CarParkToCulture #CivicSpace #PublicRealm #UrbanStrategy #AllSeasonCity #ContemporaryVernacular #TimberArchitecture #ExhibitionDesign #ArchitectureCompetition #ArchitectureVisualisation @archisource @next_top_architects @archbulletin 😊

🚀 Thrilled to share the full video of our Venice Biennale submission on Collaborative AI Agents. We asked: how far can AI agents push participatory design? What if we could take a generative AI system - with no native physics understanding - combine it with computer vision for carbon assessments on facades, feed in gaussian splats and drone scans of an existing site in Boston to reimagine adaptive reuse, and then simulate feedback via animated avatar agents in Unity? Each agent provided its own qualitative feedback on metrics we predefined as designers - in this case, walkability, safety, and greenery. These agents become collaborators, offering real-time critiques to steer us as designers toward creating more human, livable, and resilient spaces. We framed this as a speculative method to confront the almost nonexistent public engagement loop. The aim was to inject collective feedback directly into the design process through an intuitive, AI-aided interface. In this case, why rebuild when you can adapt? @tatjanacrossley @daniel.esco1 @giovannapillacamorote @carlosnavarro.cn on Unity Dev, @jeannsnts for making this happen earlier this year. Looking forward to pushing these ideas this term with my students at UPenn in my 'Design Intelligence: AI Prototyping for Architects' course, too. We’re thrilled to share more about our project for the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia: “Designing a Zero-Carbon Future: AI and the Power of Collective Imagination” Our proposal, Zero-Carbon Futures, envisions an AI-powered design platform that reimagines the way we build cities — where citizens co-create digitized 3D neighborhoods using generative AI, while intelligent agents assess environmental and carbon impact in real time. A collective tool for designing more resilient, participatory, and climate-positive urban spaces. With @george.guidadesign @tatjanacrossley @daniel.esco1 @giovannapillacamorote @carlosnavarro.cn @jeannsnts @architag_ Thank you to @labiennale and @crassociati for this opportunity. See you in Venice 🌍✨ #ArchiTAG #LaBiennale2025 #ZeroCarbonFutures #AIxArchitecture #GenerativeUrbanism #DesigningFutures #ai #aiarchitecture #dezeen #archdaily #aiaideddesign #participatorydesign

Studio Spotlight - @architag_ 💫 ArchiTAG is a boston based practice who has been using xFigura to explore different types of representation for their projects presentations from a rhino screenshot to stylized water color animations. Using Flux Kontext Max they were able to do style transfers into a watercolor and then animated with Runway Gen 4 🚀 #xfigura #AI #AIarchitecture #aifordesigners #imagetorender #storytelling #aiviz #archiviz #archdaily #dezeen #aiaideddesign #designanimation #architectureworkflow #architag

Lisbon Triennial - DMUConstellation ✨️ Behind the scenes of an immersive AR installation developed in collaboration with DMUxLisbon for the Lisbon Triennale 2022. This project visualizes the interconnected work of Dark Matter U— a counter institutional network of educators, researchers, and practitioners dedicated to anti-racist design education and outcomes. Through augmented reality, the installation maps the intricate living network of pedagogy, practice, and protest, offering a new canon of collective knowledge. Explore the project: architag.co.uk/project/dmu-constellation Experience the AR app: DMUConstellation on Google Play | DMUConstellation on the App Store. Text-to-Grasshopper Script 💪 Great to see the recent development of Raven and MCP workflows for Rhino and Blender. This unlocks the typical image-to-mesh or Gaussian splat workflows into workable 3D geometry with an embedded procedural logic. It certainly will push the needle of what parametric design means today. I imagine all of the computational designers today are already the practice AI specialists or ‘evangelists’, so it could be a fun time to: A. ask for a pay rise (might be a tad early) or; B. ride the vibe coding train and launch an AEC startup. Y-combinator’s summer ‘25 request for startups are 1) Full-stack AI companies and 2) Design-led startups. It’s time to leverage design + programming skills in one (Deadline is today too 😉) Here is a workflow we were testing at @architag_ to connect the output geometry to Speckle, generate images with Flux Pro, and video with @runwayapp Gen 4 - all inside of @xfigura.ai . Super work Moritz Rietschel! xFigura link - https://xfigura.ai/ #aiarchitecture #ai #aiaideddesign #architecture #aiart #aidesign #artificialintelligence #generativedesign #grasshopper #flux #xfigura #runwaygen4
