In the Po Valley flatlands of Gazzo Bigarello, Italy, Archiplan Studio builds Casa GA from prefabricated concrete panels — a house that reinterprets the elementary rural forms of this agricultural landscape.
The Po Valley is not a dramatic landscape. It is flat, open, and structured by decades of agricultural logic: long low forms, pitched roofs, unpretentious utility. Casa GA does not resist this. It inhabits the tradition honestly, using a prefabricated concrete system to produce something that could, in silhouette, be mistaken for a centuries-old rural structure. That continuity is deliberate and considered.

Casa GA by Archiplanstudio is a profound study in contrasts. Situated in Northern Italy, the exterior presents a stoic, industrial face composed of prefabricated concrete and sharp white sheet metal. Yet, crossing the threshold reveals an immediate shift toward warmth; light becomes a primary material, dancing across white-washed wooden beams and seamless monochromatic surfaces.
The interior rhythm is guided by a series of sculptural arches that puncture the load-bearing walls, creating a soft, rhythmic sequence of spaces. At the heart of the home, a private internal patio centered on an olive tree provides an intimate connection to the outdoors, offering a changing backdrop of shadow and light throughout the seasons. It is an architecture of subtraction, where every detail is refined to its absolute essence.

Casa GA – Gazzo Bigarello
