🌟 Meet Lanna – a Children's Miracle Network (CMN) 2026 National Champion and proud Arkansas Children's patient! 🌟 Every year, CMN select local "Champions" to represent the children treated in their communities. These incredible kids and their families advocate for the critical need for donations to support children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. During the last month of pregnancy, Lanna’s parents learned their baby wasn’t growing as expected. At one month old, Lanna was referred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where genetic testing revealed achondroplasia, the most common form of short-limbed dwarfism. While the diagnosis brought uncertainty, Lanna’s family quickly found support, expertise and hope through her care team at Arkansas Children’s. Now 12 years old, Lanna participates in a groundbreaking clinical trial designed to stimulate bone growth in children with achondroplasia. Her care team, including clinical geneticist Dr. Thomas Burrow, celebrates every milestone alongside her with cheers and high-fives. Congratulations to Lanna on this amazing recognition! 🎉💙 #CMNChampions #Achondroplasia #Dwarfism #ChildrensMiracleNetwork #CMN #Pediatrics #ChildrensHealth #Arkansas #Hospital #Healthcare

Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center (ACNC) joined KATV during Stress Awareness Month to talk about something that can often go unnoticed: kids experiencing stress too. ACNC psychologist and researcher Dr. Chayla Slaton shared how stress in children can show up through mood changes, trouble sleeping, headaches or difficulty concentrating – and why slowing down and checking in with kids matters. From listening and validating emotions to modeling healthy coping skills, small everyday moments can help children build confidence and resilience that lasts a lifetime. At ACNC, we’re also working to better understand how nutrition, physical activity and overall health can support children and families through every stage of life. Every story has a beginning – and for these tiny heroes, their first chapter started in the Arkansas Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). 📖💙 This year's NICU Reunion felt like stepping into a real-life storybook – filled with joy, resilience and so many happily ever afters. Each year, this special celebration brings families back together to honor just how far their little ones have come, from their earliest days in the NICU to the milestones they’re reaching today. Thank you to our incredible team members, volunteers and families who made the day truly magical and reminded us that the most powerful stories are the ones we get to witness every day. 🏰✨ #NICUreunion #NICU #Neonatal #ArkansasChildrens #ChildrensHealth #Arkansas #ACH #LittleRock #KidsHealth #ChildHealth #Pediatrics #Healthcare #Hospital #ChildrensHospital #ChampionsForChildren
