@amns_india the 60/40 joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, marked a significant milestone on 23 March 2026 with the foundation stone laying ceremony for its new 8.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) greenfield integrated steel plant at Rajayyapeta, Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh.
The ceremony represents a major step in AM/NS India’s long‑term growth strategy and in supporting India’s ambition to expand domestic crude steelmaking capacity.
The event was attended by senior dignitaries, including the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister of Steel & Heavy Industries Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, and other state leaders. Representing ArcelorMittal were our Executive Chairman Lakshmi Mittal and ArcelorMittal CEO and AM/NS India Chairman Aditya Mittal, alongside AM/NS India CEO Dilip Oommen.
