‘𝐾𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒' 2024 Digital Artwork, Documentation Video & Moving Image on digital screens For ‘Sorry for the Technical Difficulties’ exhibition curated by @joandkapi This digital painting draws inspiration from a song with the same name by Magdalena Bay form their latest album Imaginary Disk. The lyric, “If time is meant for living, why’s it killing me?” serves as the foundation of this piece. Lately, life has felt like a loop: a monotonous rhythm of eat, sleep, work, repeat. In this cycle, I’ve often found myself feeling less like a person and more like a machine, running on a preprogrammed script. It was during those fleeting moments between other projects that I created this piece as a way to kill time. In this piece, time is personified as both destroyer and creator, locked in a paradoxical cycle of self-destruction and rebirth. The work seeks to capture the tension between decay and renewal, reflecting the cyclical nature of time. Another perspective shared by Kapi highlighted the idea of condensing time—whether through compressing progress into a timelapse or comparing the streamlined workflow to the more laborious process of creating a Renaissance or Rococo painting—as a form of “killing” the time spent in the process. Similarly, crafting intricate details that remain unseen by the 3D camera becomes an act of time and effort being “destroyed.” I was really mindblown by his insights and you know what it’s so true. Thank you @joandkapi for inviting me to be part of this exhibition—my very first time participating in fact! Grateful to the amazing artists as well: Aditi Neti, Darius Ou, Chok Si Xuan, Samson, and Tisha Wong. It was such a wonderful and enriching experience 🫶🏻

had the pleasure of creating base renderings for @arcansaigon ’s 6th anniversary party in collabs with @bussytemple !! 🩸 depicted a creature that craves desire and intimacy, to be so close to another till the boundary between ourselves collapses, merging into a singular entity. also created an alternate visual that mimics the creation of adam that signifies the brink of a connection. animated posters by the talented @noibuontuyetdinh 🔥

𝑆𝑜𝑙𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑟𝑎 first post of the year!! trying to get back into the groove of creating characters again xx also this is my first time recording a timelapse of my zbrush sculpting process (slide 3) which is just me going in with no plan and seeing what works haha enjoy!~

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑈𝑛ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑦 𝐶𝑟𝑢𝑠𝑎𝑑𝑒 Sun bleached demons astride dragon steeds descending into the chaos of battle.

𝐸𝑙𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑑𝑦

𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟 A gigantic multiheaded beast with gaping maws that suck up everything in its path. Swallowing cities, forests and oceans with ease. It also has a human-shaped tongue to lure unsuspecting prey. This skill was more useful when it started off small.

𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑙 More creature-esque vibes this time! Really enjoyed making this one~

𝐴𝑝𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 - This has undergone so many revisions and I’m genuinely proud of how this piece came out! This might just be the most ambitious painting I have created so far, featuring five distinct characters, while also integrating AI-generated figures and backgrounds with my 3D renders. Hope y’all like it as much as I do xx
