Another successful annual SS AR&B crab and fishing trip!
Amazing weather, smooth waters, and we can now confirm the Bay has been noticeably restocked… in the opposite direction 🦀🎣😄
Another wonderful AR&B Family Picnic at Coyote Point! Grateful for the chance to celebrate the dedication of our incredible team and their families. From great food to endless fun, it was the perfect way to honor the people who make AR&B strong.
We’re excited to share the incredible results from AR&B’s Blueprint to Better Health Initiative. 14 participants took on a fun and transformative challenge to boost their wellness, and we’re excited to celebrate their progress.
To kick things off, everyone got a DEXA body scan to measure key health markers, including:
Total body fat percentage
Total mass (lbs)
Fat tissue (lbs)
Lean tissue (lbs)
Bone Mineral Content (BMC)
Here’s what our awesome group accomplished:
85.7% reduced their body fat, losing a total of 120.3 lbs of fat
Shed 12.3 lbs of visceral fat, which helps lower the risk of chronic conditions like heart disease and diabetes.
Kept muscle loss super low at just 6.5 lbs (only 5.1% of total weight loss), so they stayed strong and active.
Boosted bone density rankings, with some reaching the 82nd percentile for healthier, stronger bones.
The DEXA scans also gave us a clear picture of health risks based on body fat and visceral fat levels. At the start:
35.7% were in the high-risk category for visceral fat (linked to risks like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome).
42.9% were in the moderate-risk category.
21.4% were in the low-risk category.
By the end, the results were inspiring:
High-risk participants dropped to just 7.1%!
Moderate-risk participants decreased to 28.6%.
Low-risk participants soared to 64.3%!
To cap off this awesome journey, all our participants laced up their sneakers and joined in a celebratory 5K run to close out the challenge. It was an amazing way to come together, have fun, and showcase their newfound energy and strength!
We’re beyond proud of every single participant for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Your efforts have truly shone through, and it’s been so rewarding to see your progress. Here’s to celebrating all of you and your incredible achievements.
Special thanks to Fernando Franco, Safety Director for AR&B!
**"Nothing like a little rain to keep things interesting while setting equipment in San Francisco’s Richmond District! Huge shoutout to Mike Kofoid and the Hydronic team, as well as Tyler Killpack and the Dry-Side crew, for their hard work and dedication. We’re in the final stretch—just 25% to go, and weddings are already taking place! Excited to see this project come to life, and proud to have AR&B be a part of it!"**
Today we said our goodbyes to Jon Burk, father, friend and long time AR&B sheetmetal foreman. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Mia, his children and his family. Jon will be missed.
We’re here to get the job done! Sometimes that means a 10pm crane pick with a welded frame on the roof of the Ferry Building.

Foreman Justin Silva and lead welder Ron Rivera spent a cold evening lifting a new exhaust fan to the roof and preparing the platform. Journeyman Gavin Gavam and Pre Apprentice Jose Villalobos set the new fan and called it a night. Another successful after dark crane pick on one of San Francisco’s most historic buildings, The Ferry Building.
