My performative self-portrait practice is an ongoing exploration of identity and self-expression, focusing on embodiment and physical transformation. Growing up amid diverse cultures and religions, I often felt the pressure to conform to predefined molds, whether cultural, religious, or sexual. This eventually led me to the adaptation of alter ego as a means to explore and express myself free from heteronormative expectations. Through my work, I aim to evoke emotion and contemplation in viewers, drawing on aesthetics and theatricality to visually express my inner world.
