We had to have a felting workshop before welcoming summer, and Lillian Tuttle made it happen!
🗓️ SAT, APRIL 25th | 2 to 7pm
📍 67 West St. Studio 513, Brooklyn
On April 25th, join us for a hands-on session where you’ll learn the basics of wet felting and create your own wool bag using a resist technique.
Over a relaxed afternoon, you’ll build, shape, and transform raw wool into a functional object—exploring texture, form, and process along the way.
No experience needed. All materials are included.
I'm thinking about the origins of felt in Central Asia, which include the "whole civilization" Trump just threatened to destroy. Videos of this Iranian feltmaker, Abdollah Hallaj Rezaie, were some of the first resources I found when researching traditional felting. He seems to be/have been one of a dwindling number of craftspeople keeping the craft alive in Iran.

What an honor to make Isabel's wedding dress. It was a long-distance process of trust and collaboration and on the Big Day her radiance was turned all the way up!
Made from silk faille and her grandmother's satin wedding dress from the '30s, lined with silk georgette.
