Semester Recap: MVA in Nashville! 🎸🛡️
Our team spent some time in Music City at the THEC Veteran Initiatives Conference, advocating for our military-affiliated students.
From Jasmin Linares sharing the secrets to successful resource centers, to LaTara Pearson and Ana Pla Rosario presenting on holistic support frameworks, we are always working to make your experience at APSU better.
The highlight? Our student worker, Jorge Haro, joined a panel of student veterans from across Tennessee to share his story of grit and growth. Seeing our students reflect on their unique strengths in higher ed is exactly why we do what we do!

50+ years of leadership led to this moment. Cadet Christopher Martin officially became the 1,000th officer commissioned through APSU ROTC’s Governors Guard Battalion. Here’s to the next generation of Gov leaders! 🎩🇺🇸
There is still time to submit your nominations for the APSU Governors Military Hall of Fame, honoring Govs who have served with distinction and exemplify dedication and honor.
View nomination details & deadlines on our website using the link in our bio.

From service to stage! 🛡️🎓
We had an incredible evening celebrating our Spring 2026 military and veteran graduates at the MUC Ballroom!
It was a privilege to hear from our keynote speaker, LTC Nicholas Eslinger. A local hero at Fort Campbell and a Distinguished Service Cross recipient, his story of leadership and resilience is the ultimate inspiration for our newest alumni. 🌟
Congratulations to everyone who received their official APSU Military Coin and Military Graduate Cord. You’ve earned these honors through your dedication to both your country and your education. 🪙🎗️

🤝 Strengthening our Circle
ODK was founded on the pillars of collaboration and inclusivity, and seeing our military-affiliated students and staff recognized among the university’s top leaders reinforces that our community is exceptional and unstoppable.

📸 A huge thank you to Shawn from APSU PR for capturing the professional photos of the evening.
“I tell my nursing students, ‘you’ve got to love people to be a good nurse.’ If you love people and work hard, we can help with the rest.”
That’s the standard set by Dr. Eve Rice and her team in the APSU School of Nursing.
It’s also what has helped build a strong national reputation within the U.S. Army Medical Department (AMEDD), where APSU has become a top choice for soldiers pursuing the Army Nurse Corps.
In 2024, 32 of 50 soldiers selected nationwide chose APSU.
But talk to the students, and that number starts to make sense. It’s the guidance before they ever arrive, the understanding of military life, and the people who stay with them through it.
