An IS38 conversion refers to upgrading the factory turbocharger (IS20) on these Audi S1’s to a larger IS38 turbocharger, These are the same turbo’s that are fitted to the Golf R, Audi S3, and Seat Leon Cupra
The benefits of running these billet cores are the fact the IS38 from factory are known to be very weak and fail as you start putting them through its paces, the billet core gives it 40% strength over a stock core with uprated 360 thrust bearing’s and many more little upgrades which makes it a good alternative
