Since that first gas lamp was lit in 1886 at Central and Washington, one thing has remained constant, supporting the people and communities who call Arizona home. Tiny feet on the run! 👣 When a little one makes a break for it near our downtown Phoenix service center, our team didn’t hesitate. APS supervisor Kort Meyer saw the child on the run and immediately tried to intervene, but a badge-only gate briefly stood between him and the fast-moving kiddo. At that same moment, employee Robert Butler happened to be driving by in his bucket truck. Robert is an APS troubleman—a highly skilled, specialized role acting as a first responder to electrical emergencies and power outages. This time, the emergency was a bit different. As captured by surveillance, Robert quickly pulled over and caught the child just before they crossed into a high-traffic road, reuniting the toddler with a relieved parent. “I normally don’t drive down this street. I’m just grateful I was in the right place at the right time,” said Robert. “I have a two-year-old son, and I know how fast kids can move once they get going... As a parent, I can definitely relate.” The moment ended safely thanks to quick thinking and action. It’s a powerful reminder of what it means to look out for one another. ⚡️💙

On May 2, our APS Lineman Rodeo team headed to Livermore, California to compete in PG&E’s “West Coast” Lineman Rodeo—going head-to-head with top crews from across the nation. And they delivered. From first-place finishes to standout individual performances, our team showed what dedication, safety and true grit look like in action. 👏 Highlights include: • 1st place overall journeyman team • Multiple event wins across pole climbs, hotsticking and rescue challenges • Incredible showings from both journeymen and apprentices Congratulations and job well done! They'll head on to their next competition soon—let’s keep cheering them on.⚡

Before modern charging stations and long-range batteries, there was the Mars II. APS added one of these electric vehicles to its fleet in 1967 as part of an early electric transportation research effort. Only 45 were ever manufactured. A lot has changed since then, but innovation has always been part of the journey. ⚡ #transportationweek #electricvehicle #history

Some jobs require a bird's eye view. Helicopters help our crews safely inspect power lines, replace equipment in hard-to-reach areas and respond faster when customers need power restored. It's all part of keeping Arizona connected. #transportationweek #helicopters

Teachers help shape Arizona's future. This Teacher Appreciation Week, we're grateful for all they do and proud to support classrooms through programs like our APS/Suns STEM grants, the APS Supply My Class program and the APS Foundation. Starting this July, teachers can apply for a chance to win prepaid cards to use towards school supplies through the APS Supply My Class program, just in time for the new school year. We continue to monitor and work closely with fire departments to support firefighter safety and emergency response efforts near electrical equipment.

Class of 2026, celebrate safely!🎓🎈Most balloon-related outages take place between Valentine's Day and graduation season in May. To prevent a power outage, keep your balloons properly secured. When the celebration is over, puncture and deflate to dispose of them responsibly.

Our Customer Experience Team regularly hosts Customer Open Houses across the state, giving customers the opportunity to meet one-on-one with APS representatives. These events provide helpful information about assistance programs, rate plan options and money-saving tips. We recently stopped in Buckeye (pictured above) and this week, we're in Yuma.

We teamed up with @apsfyi to donate $20K+ in equipment to help bring a brand-new soccer pitch to life at Garfield Elementary 🙌 From goals and nets to balls, benches, and more — the next generation is ready to play. 190+ students hit the field for a clinic led by our Players and academy coaches, putting in the work and having some fun along the way 💪🔥 #RisingAsOne
