Preview: Friday 1st May, 6-8pm. ‘The Evans and Gilhooly Show’ New paintings by Stig Evans and Jonathan Gilhooly. • Stig Evans and Jonathan Gilhooly have collaborated previously, most notably on ‘Colour Conundrum’ (2010), a speculative reconstruction of a Victorian parlour game attributed to inventor, colour theorist, and polymath Charles Albert Keeley. The project brought together their shared interest in colour, perception, simulation, deception, and illusion. First shown at the Whitechapel Gallery and later at Phoenix Art Space, Brighton, it was revisited in 2025 through their talk ‘Origins of a Parlour Game’ for the International Colour Association’s symposium on ‘Spatialities & Colour’. Contact us to arrange a viewing time. • ‘The All Dressed Up but Nowhere to Show Show’ comprises forty-four exhibition proposals for Gallery DODO by both artists and curators. Individually, these proposals contain engaging ideas for exhibitions, while collectively they offer a fascinating range of approaches and conventions in writing an exhibition proposal. From sincere to knowingly ironic, the exhibition proposal (and the premise for the exhibition itself) is embraced, playfully subverted, critiqued, and reinvented. Each proposal will soon be uploaded to the gallery website.
