A little “pre-game” walk thru the theatre before the storytelling begins! I like to get there early- and leave the city outside and adapt to the environment of the theatre- the costumes are coming out- wigs are going on- props are getting placed- sound checks- lights- all the things- “Steel Magnolias” @thegroupreptheatre closed its six week run on Sunday- but forever in my heart! ❤️

Episode 16 of "Making it Small in Hollywood" when I was cast on John Mulaney's live show- "John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA" - part of the now yearly Netflix is a Joke that takes place in LA. Not only did I share a day shooting a segment with Cedric the Entertainer but I worked another day on the Live show! Live TV, like it was 1960 in NYC- we started at 7:00 and it went out all over the world at whatever time it was there! It was a live audience show and we couldn't get tickets but my friend Arturo managed to win a lottery that allowed him and Michael to be in the live audience. Live TV is exciting- like theatre- but with residuals! Also that day on stage in the episode I was on besides the two comedy geniuses I just mentioned was David Letterman, Bill Hader, Pete Davidson, Richard Kind and more! It was quite a job! And for those who know, you may recognize my decesed husband- I didn't realize when they asked for pictures to decorate the set of what was "my home"- the picture would get a insert shot!

Episode 15 of “Making it Small in Hollywood” (the teenage years) I moved out to LA when I was 17 and immediately got into what was called the “Screen Extras Guild” - yep there used to be a union for Background Actors. The pay for an 18 year old was amazing. The work felt very grown up. I went from working at fast food restaurants in NY to being on set with actors I grew up watching and admired. One of them being Jack Klugman. I looked at these actors like they were everything! And I was now here at such a young age, working with them. Learning the ropes of life on a TV and or Film set. Getting upgraded for a bit part here and there. I moved out here and didn’t have any connections and within a short amount of time I met a girl whose mom was in casting and helped me get a start! This was from the TV show “Quincy” in the 80’s and I was also learning what it meant to be up at 5 am find my way to a 7:00 call time and work for 13 hours a day! #actorlife #creative #workingactor #hollywood #lanyc creativegratitude characterwork

Happy Birthday in heaven Mama! You were always the brightest energy in the room and I was lucky to be your kid. You taught me love, compassion, adventure, passion. You gave me every key ingredient to have a successful life. To love and be love- to laugh at all of it- to care deeply for others- and to keep life moving! I will think of you and miss you until I see you again. This wasn’t our first Hello or our first goodbye- but from lifetime to lifetime we find each other again. You gave me a love of storytelling which gave me a purpose in the world. You showed me how important females are and how kind men can be- we made each other laugh and cry and we lived life fully present in each other’s life. I will forever be yours and you will always be mine. I have great love in my life because you taught me what it feels like- I love you mama and I will live my life fully because of you! 💖💖💖
