Operating a business with your husband/wife is a special thing. Now that I have entered this new chapter of my career, Paden and I now show up at the same facility (Benza) each day to make wine together, and separately. It is surely an adventure and we have both confirmed we are a pain in the ass to one another, at times. But overall, we are having a blast! It feels right.

we had the chance to do a private tasting with jess of approachment at benza vineyard and it was such a treat ✨
approachment is the project of jess + paden west, making small production wines that are thoughtful, expressive, and super fun! if you’ve been following along for a while, you’ve probably already spotted their pinot gris in a few of our photos… it’s easily one of our favorite labels 👀
another thing we love is that every release features label artwork created in collaboration with different artists, so each bottle feels like its own little piece of art.
