According to the Big Rip theory, if the dark energy of the universe increases, the stars, galaxies and atoms will be torn apart. In this scenario, galaxies would drift away from each other, and planets and the stars would separate as well due to the weakening of gravity. In the end, whatever remains of the universe would be destroyed. Continuing the research of my project As long as the Sun lasts, I tried to imagine what the universe might look like in this scenario, starting from the shape of the Crystal Ball, a game to create bubbles blowing in a plastic paste, and developing it in form of sculpture.🫧 The object represents the ultimate shape of the universe before its collapse, reduced to a primordial state in which what remnants of galaxies and stars is compressed, like a kind of wreck. Installed inside a box, the object is meant to be viewed up close by visitors who, by covering themselves with a cloth, help preserve the darkness in which the sculpture is immersed.✨ Thank you @arte_soffio for the sculpture🫧
