glossy skin, flushed cheeks, bitten lips, wet lashes—as if freshly emerged from a hot bath.
the hues of red appear to radiate from deep within the body. the blush and lips evoke blood rushing to surface, warm to the touch.
zoe described this collection as a love letter to the body. “it was very much inspired by blood and life, and the complexity of that as a color palette.”
the garments—which look to pre-industrial maternity wear as a starting point—reflect on transformation of the body. the movement of childbirth mirrors our own continuous rebirth.
the body is not fixed, but becoming.
makeup moved alongside garments to tell this story of a body’s rebirth. blush, salve, highlighter, lipstick, and mascara were tools to further immerse her models in these sacred moments of transformation.
