And just like that, AFN’s 2026 Annual Gathering has come to a close!
We want to extend our deep gratitude to the sponsors and AFN leaders who made this Gathering possible. It is because of your support that over a few days in Appalachia, we got to see what happens when funders, practitioners, artists, and community leaders come together not just to talk, but to learn from one another and from the place itself.
From sessions on impact investing, disaster resilience, narrative change, and measuring hope, to time spent out in the community - at Coalfield Development Corporation, Heritage Farmstead Museum, Print My Threads, and so many other places - it was a powerful reminder that the future of a Just Transition in Appalachia is already being built, together.
Be on the lookout for a full reflection on AFN's 2026 Annual Gathering. For now, here's a sneak peak at some of our favorite moments from our time on Appalachia's Front Porch 📹
