When I interviewed Lesbian Herstory Archives co-founder Joan Nestle for the book, she told me that, for her, part of what it means to be a lesbian is to stand for Palestinian liberation. Her words have been ringing in my ears these past seven months, and they’ve grown even louder after the Rafah strike. As I’m celebrating and reflecting on this little lesbian book being out in the world for a year, and feeling grateful to all the readers I’ve met, and the fellow archivists who have offered up new lesbian stories, I’m inspired by Joan to urge folks to donate to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund. Joan’s expansive view of lesbianism includes a calling to support other marginalized groups. Let’s join her.

A short lady who I only knew for a short while. About seven months ago, we lost Lisa Ness, mother of @rebeccanessart and her brother Alex and the most ancient cat in the world, Theo. She was a therapist and a Capricorn and loved musical theater. She always made me shower after swimming in the pond by her house and teased me for borrowing her things. Now, I wear her turquoise ring and hair scrunchie every day. I hate thinking about all the things we never got to do together. We miss you, Lisa.
